2016 - 2017

We represent one of the most honorable organizations both nationally and at Stuyvesant. Our emphasis on public-speaking, self-expression and confidence isn't only aimed at training national competitors and finalists; it's aimed at training future leaders. This team represents a second family for every single one of us.

REGIONAL QUALIFIER INFORMATION

      Speech - Saturday, Feb 22nd  - Regis High School   

The following categories will be offered: JV & V Extemp; JV & V Oral Interp; Declamation; Original Oratory; Dramatic Interp; Humorous Interp; and Duo Interp.

 

     Lincoln-Douglas Debate - Monday, March 3rd.  – Regis High School

All levels of Lincoln-Douglas Debate will be offered.  The Jan/Feb NFL LD topic will be used. 

 

     Student Congress - Monday, March 3rd. – Regis High School

Each school in Student Congress must submit at least one bill or resolution by Wednesday, Feb 19th. Legislation must be emailed to edimichele@regis.org

 

     Public Forum - Wednesday, March 5th – Regis High School - There will be three levels of debate. The JANUARY NFL Public Forum topic will be used.

 

     The judging requirements are as follows:

Speech - one judge for every four speakers

LDone judge for every two debaters

Public Forum Debate – one judge for every two teams

Student Congress - one judge for each delegation

** Qualified varsity debaters may judge the intermediate and novice divisions of LD & Public Forum debate. Qualified Varsity Speakers may judge declamation, JV Oral Interp and JV Extemp.
